BRIGHT VERSION much credit to for the coloring/layer editing *__* so pretty

Ayase paced through the front hallway, a trail of mud left behind in his footsteps. The sky outside was bleak, the ocean still. Ultimately the mood outside had seeped in and infiltrated the inside, thus leaving the young master in a constant state of boredom. Now noticing the muddy footprints he had painted on the floor, he kept his feet moving in one particular direction, and quickly found what he was searching for.
Inai lay unusually relaxed on the floor, his eyes sewn tightly to the book in his hands. Jealous that this wad of paper always seemed to get more attention than him, Ayase decided to confront his new found friend.
In a most effective tactic, by jumping on him.
"Oof" Inai's attention had obviously been gained.
"Watchya readin'?" Ayase peered over his shoulder curiously.
"I'm not an arm chair. If you need somewhere to sit there's a rather comfortable one in that corner over there" Ayase looked to where he was indicating, then turned his gaze back to the book. "What's this?" He pointed to a strange looking creature on the page. It appeared to be some sort of lion to him, though its head resembled that of a bird his father had once told him about. Back in the old days before the mountain ridges were turned into streets and buildings, concrete now in place of every plant.
"A griffin." Inai replied, his voice escaping from it's usual monotone, now sounded quite lively.
Ayase stared at the page for a while, his brows furrowed and nose crinkled. "It looks like some mad scientist made it. I'll bet those things could rip you to shreds"
Inai looked over his shoulder and smiled faintly at him. "They're quite friendly actually."
Ayase smirked "And how would you know?"
The raven haired boy peered back at him for quite some time, blue eyes meeting violet, and his smile faded, his head turned back to the book.
"Well I've met them."

*random explanation to pic made off the top of my head*
This was pretty fun to do at first, wasn't happy with a lot of things, only really liked the poses but helped me with the lighting (I had it like completely backwards) so now I'm pretty happy with it. This pic features Inai and Ayase in the time Inai was being protected by the Arlu Kai. At this point Inai had just lost Isaru and his true colors were beginning to show.
won't say much more cause I don't wanna give away too many spoilers XD
I like this version a smidge better, I tend to love brighter things hehe and like I was saying in the other one, Ayase seems to be a bright and lively person so it's almost like the 2 versions based on their personas I really do love the poses and the shading and textures look very nice

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
